Sludge Treatment

Enpure provides a wide range of sludge treatment processes to meet all legislative requirements as well as maximising the recovery of energy and other useful components of the sludge.

Waste water plant

As an inevitable by-product of municipal waste water and many industrial processes, sludge treatment has traditionally focussed only on dewatering to minimise the mass of wet solids for disposal.

Increasingly, recent legislation now requires sludges to meet minimum standards, for hygiene, toxicity and reuse. Additionally, the organic content of many sludges is now seen as a resource, either for mineral or metal reclamation or as a feedstock for anaerobic digestion, where it usually provides biogas for on-site combined heat and power generation to run the process.

Recent developments have also seen some government incentives for maximising gas production for export, either for use as a transportation fuel, power generation for export or for injection into the national gas grid.

Many of these enhanced processes also remove pathogens and trace heavy metals from the final cake, making it highly suitable for use as a soil nutritional supplement for agricultural use.

Enpure provides a wide range of sludge treatment processes to meet all legislative requirements as well as maximising the amount of energy and other useful components of the sludge.  We offer Physical & Chemical Treatment (Chemical Stabilization, Thickening, Dewatering, Biological Treatment, Pasteurisation), Biological Treatment (Pasteurisation, Thermal hydrolysis with biological treatment, Sludge Digestion) Thermal Treatment (Thermal hydrolysis, Thermal drying) Odour Treatment (Odour Control) as well as other sludge treatment processes including anaerobic digestion enhancement, utillising ultrasound (sonixTM), and sludge drying.
