TUAS 3 Desalination DAF Project Completion

Enpure announces the successful completion of the TUAS 3 Desalination Pre-treatment project in Singapore.  Under the contract to deliver an advanced pre-treatment system for the third TUAS seawater desalination plant for the Public Utilities Board (PUB) of Singapore, Enpure was responsible for the design, supply, and commissioning of its proprietary Enflo-DAF™ high-rate dissolved air flotation technology to EPC Contractor, HSL Constructor Pte.

Officially commissioned in 2018, the TUAS 3 Desalination plant serves approximately 200,000 households with a production capacity of 30 million gallons a day and is the first in Singapore to adopt a pre-treatment solution that combines dissolved air flotation (DAF) and ultrafiltration (UF).  Furthermore, the plant is by far the most space-efficient facility in the country, covering just 3.5 hectares.

Based on over 40 years of experience in the global DAF industry, Enpure successfully delivered a robust and compact solution, which helped the client overcome the challenges of both algae and oil concentrations experienced on the west coast of Singapore, whilst maintaining consistent effluent production quality.  The TUAS 3 Desalination plant was named the ‘Desalination Plant of the Year’ at the 2019 Global Water Summit held in London.

Avtar Jirh, CEO & Managing Director of Enpure, said, “The project has been another opportunity for Enpure to showcase its industry-leading capabilities in the DAF technology as the Company continues to expand its footprint in the global water pre-treatment market.”
