Worlds largest DAF plant enters commissioning stage

Enpure is carrying out the commissioning work at the world's largest Seawater RO Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) & Dual Media Filtration (DMF) pre-treatment plant.

The Ras Al Khair Ph1 Project was awarded by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation in September 2010.  Built with hybrid technologies inclusing eight MSF units (160 MIGD) and seventeen RO units (68 MIGD) the plant will provide a combined output of 228MIGS (728 million litres, ie 3/4 billion litres per day) which is sufficient to meet the daily water needs of more than 3.5 million people.

Enpure's scope was for the design, key equipment supply, supervision and commissioning of the 1010 Ml/d DAF and DMF pretreatment stage comprising 16 DAF cells each with an area of approx 101m2, and 40 split bed 175m2 filters.
